  12 A daemon that provides a legacy bridge front-end for \fBovs\-vswitchd\fR.  It
  13 does this by listening for bridge ioctl commands (e.g., those generated by
  14 the \fBbrctl\fR program) to add or remove datapaths and the interfaces
  15 that attach to them.
  16 This feature is deprecated and will be removed no earlier than February 2013.

  19 .IP "\fB\-\-appctl=\fIprogram\fR"
  20 Sets the name to the program that \fBovs\-brcompatd\fR runs to
  21 communicate with \fBovs\-vswitchd\fR.  The default is
  22 \fBovs\-appctl\fR.  Unless \fIprogram\fR contains \fB/\fR,
  23 \fBovs\-brcompatd\fR will search the \fBPATH\fR environment variable
  24 to find it.
